Daniel Elderenbosch (24) lives in Amsterdam and brings a wide range of experience to Eevery. While studying Business Administration, he worked in various roles, including managing a pop-up store and as a project manager for a company supplying recycled plastic products to discount retailers. Now, Daniel is ready for the next step in his career. As Business Development Associate he supports SMEs in the Netherlands and the UK with their sustainability efforts. We're excited to welcome Daniel to our team.
One of the main reasons for me to work at Eevery is the chance to be part of a start-up in an emerging market. The platform is innovative and unique, which immediately attracted me. Working in a start-up environment means you can directly influence decision-making and business strategy. You have the space to share ideas and actively shape the company's direction. This level of involvement in the growth process, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact, is something you rarely find in larger organisations. The dynamic nature of the work, combined with the ability to learn quickly and develop a wide range of skills, makes it a truly rewarding experience. The team atmosphere is also fantastic, with everyone working together to drive real change. So far, it has more than met my expectations. The working environment is enjoyable, and there’s a strong sense of purpose as we all work hard to make a real difference. Being part of something bigger and contributing to a meaningful solution feels great.
For me, sustainability means quality, long-term thinking, and value creation. Of course, well-known aspects like recycling are important, but sustainability goes beyond that. At Eevery, I see this reflected in how we support SMEs in making their businesses more sustainable. We help them become more transparent in their sustainability reporting, enabling them to make a positive long-term impact on SMEs in the Netherlands and the UK. Eevery focuses not just on the environment but also on social and governance aspects. Additionally, our platform allows businesses to measure their sustainability objectively based on international sustainability frameworks. We help entrepreneurs understand their impact, improve it, and communicate it effectively. Together, we contribute to a more sustainable SME sector and a better society.
My day starts with a stand-up meeting, where the team briefly discusses the agenda. This keeps everyone informed about priorities and developments within the company. We also have weekly meetings with the commercial team to review our strategies and explore new ways to improve. Part of my day involves account management, where I contact our clients. It’s always interesting to hear how they use Eevery and how I can further support them. Occasionally, I attend networking events to learn more about sustainability and stay up to date on the latest developments. I’m constantly learning, gaining work experience and insights in the market and sustainability.
As a Business Development Associate, I help onboard new SME clients to our platform and guide them through their sustainability journey in ESG (environmental, social, and governance). My goal is to ensure businesses start their sustainability efforts and stay motivated to continue improving. I encourage them to adopt long-term sustainable practices. It is important to me that businesses take their first steps and remain active in contributing to a more sustainable future. In this way, I contribute directly to Eevery’s mission: helping SMEs measure, improve, and communicate their sustainability impact to make a positive difference for both the environment and society.
The culture and atmosphere at Eevery are informal, direct, flexible, and highly ambitious. The team is mission-driven, and everyone is motivated to make a difference. We have a diverse team with members from various backgrounds. This enhances the dynamic and provides valuable learning opportunities. Being a small team helps us work agile and consult directly, allowing us to swift decision making and collaborate effectively.
My key advice for businesses starting their sustainability journey is to begin by measuring where you currently stand. Just like stepping on a scale, a baseline measurement is the crucial first step. It gives you a clear understanding of your starting point and allows you to track your progress. After a year, you can measure again to see how far you've come, making your efforts more tangible. It’s also important not to feel overwhelmed by regulations and guidelines. Start small and focus on areas where you can implement simple changes. Sustainability doesn't need to be all-encompassing from day one; even small steps can make a significant impact. The main thing is to make a start and keep progressing. For many, especially younger generations—sustainability is not just important; it’s essential. They want to work for companies taking real action to address it. Prioritising sustainability is important, not just for your business operations, but for the future of our planet and your ability to attract top talent in a global market.
