Our working student Florentine Tinbergen is 24 and has worked at Eevery since December. Next to her job at Eevery, she is also doing a master's degree in Economic & Consumer Psychology at Leiden University and lives there. In just a few months, Florentine has developed enormously in various areas and is a full member of our Eevery team. In this blog, Florentine will explain her experience as a Working student in Sustainability and offer a look behind the scenes.
After completing my bachelor's degree in Psychology, I hesitated between a specialisation in Clinical Psychology or Business Administration for a long time. Ultimately, I opted for business and wanted to develop and challenge myself further in this field.Working at a start-up seemed the perfect way to do this. Because teams are small, you get a wide range of tasks, allowing you to know many different aspects of a company and improve several skills. In addition, I have always found it essential to add value to the world. The effects of climate change are increasingly noticeable around us and I felt a strong urge to do something about it.
Working at Eevery is the answer to broad development and allows me to add value to society immediately.
And I highly recommend it! I get many different responsibilities and am also closely involved with the development of the company and everything that comes with it. This is an enriching experience.
The sustainability sector is indispensable today and is developing at a rapid pace. It is very instructive to experience developments in this world up close and be given the responsibility to contribute to them.
I work two days a week, one of which is marketing and one is sales. A marketing day consists of creating content about sustainability and new developments within ESG. For example, I have organised a webinar, written several blogs and create content for our social media channels, including LinkedIn.
I also have to do some good research beforehand to create the content. This gives me a lot of new insights into the field and helps me broaden my knowledge of sustainability and sustainable business.
A sales day looks completely different, which makes the work dynamic and fun. On a sales day, I work together with the sales team on strategies to support as many SMEs as possible with sustainable business through our platform. The sales day consists of meetings, but also face-to-face contact with many different customers and prospects.I also provide consultative support to various customers when using the platform for the first time. In doing so, I often get to see immediately how much value we add to these companies.
Eevery's mission and vision are to help SMEs improve their sustainability. By doing so, we collectively have a big positive impact. Being actively involved in both content and commerce, I can already contribute to this.I am proud to have been given a lot of responsibility and confidence so quickly, obviously within Eevery team.
Eevery not only supports the importance of a sustainable business and employee satisfaction but also applies this in practice itself. With us, you work in an inspiring and structured working environment that makes me feel very comfortable as an employee. Even though we all have different backgrounds, we work together as a team and there is also mutual respect. In addition, a lot of space is given for own input and is listened to. This gives everyone the chance to add value and develop in their way.
I don't have to think about that for long. Surely that is the webinar I got to give a few weeks ago. Beforehand, this seemed like a huge challenge and a big responsibility. However, I received fantastic guidance in preparing this webinar, which also allowed me to give it with a confident and calm feeling.
It also underlined the knowledge and expertise I have already gained over the past few months. I can only say that this has been a very valuable experience.
There are countless opportunities to develop further within Eevery. Not only will you build a wide range of business and entrepreneurial skills, but you will be trained to become a sustainability expert. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovation and develop new ideas. You can also be employed for various work and activities with good supervision and a lot of confidence. As a result, you might discover previously unknown talents.
At Eevery, you will be surrounded by a team with diverse backgrounds, such as product specialists, developers, sales managers and entrepreneurs. This will give you a broader perspective on business and technology issues and you will learn new skills from experienced professionals. You will also work face-to-face with customers from very different sectors. This gives great insight into different business processes and their challenges.
In short, working at Eevery is a unique opportunity to develop yourself broadly in the field of sustainability and innovation, but also to learn from experienced professionals and gain a broader perspective on business and technological issues. This way, you can make a valuable contribution to a more sustainable future!
